  1. Just started BOLC yesterday actually. How's Lewis? Your wait depends on several things, as street-to-seat I ended up on hold for about a month. Street-to-seat guys typically are going to fill in classes when there is availability and typically everyone else (especially guard/reserve) will enter with an actual class date that you're pretty much guaranteed, unless you can't make for personal issues.
  2. Recently finished WOCS after a near 1 year stint as a medical holdover and I've just begun down the road towards IERW. I certainly don't know everything about the process but if you've just recently been accepted and have any questions I'd be more than happy to answer.
  3. I'm currently inprocessing at hhc and as I just got my flight packet back I noticed I was dq'd from flying oh-58s because of my height but now as I look on to my packet I've also noticed that I'm disqualified from th-67s as well which makes sense considering they're extremely similar. My question is how do I attend flight school if I can't fly the th-67??
  4. Thanks for all the responses. About the initial pt test: when we first arrived we were met at the cdo desk by a guy who claimed the initial pt test is going to be insanely stringently graded by the TAC personel and that many people who have passed the test their whole careers don't pass this one. I expect it to be stringent but would you say this is exaggerated? I've passed 5 or so pt tests in basic/applications at this point with no problems, but they have me doubting my push up form already. Part of me wants to laugh at all the paranoia that Rucker has generated so far.
  5. Hey guys I need help or at least some piece of mind going through this process. I am a current 09W in the last few days of basic and almost headed to Rucker for WOCS. The problem I have is that while in basic I was issued the wrong shoes and ran on them for several weeks until I had a leg problem called IT Band syndrome which is essentially the same as shin splints but involves a different muscle group(area above knee). Now this problem causes muscle pain after running for an hour. The real problem is that I had to report this to the medical clinic on base here and while the problem was completely resolved with the right shoes my medical records don't have a follow up or anything to say "okay, this guy is better". My question is: will this disqualify me at my second flight medical? Its gone and it was a running related injury, BUT I feel like a flight medic in the wrong mood might dq me for this. Specifcally, the regs for 1a say that for legs anything that is: dimensions, loss of strength or endurance or limits in motility that would comprimise flight safety. Do you guys think this will get me kicked out or have you seen anyone get booted at the second flight medical for an issue like this? ANY help is greatly appreciated as ill only have my phone till rucker takes it at wocs this Saturday.
  6. Thanks all- Turns out the window is definitely larger than 3 days, though I don't know how long it is officially. Shipping in Feb. to Ft. Jackson. Its late in the process to be asking, but just to confirm: Everyone who graduates from Rucker through the WOFT program ends up as a fully trained aviator, right? I know all of the other branches seperate the MOS's pilot and navigator, but I'm under the impression that Rucker trains you to operate as both and you are not relegated to one position for your 6 year contract. I'm just trying to confirm that all WO Rucker graduates get stick time at some point during their contract.
  7. I was told I couldnt get into MEPS period until Monday (its in downtown Pittsburgh). I dont know if this is my recruting offices rules or just theres nothing available there. I dont know who to call at this point; any recommendations?
  8. EDIT: Selected Was just informed today 11/15 that I was selected by the Nov. board. Thanks to any and all who responded and those who post regularly on this forum. I learned much about the process from the posters here; it was an extreme help to me in creating my packet. NOW the tricky part is: I've been told that you have a 72 hour swear-in window in which you must be on the MEPS floor in order to retain your contract. My recruiting office is telling me they cant get me in until Monday of next week at the EARLIEST (which is out of the 72 hour window). Can anyone comment if this is true?? If it is: what do I do?
  9. Thanks for the replies...it really is reassuring to hear that. Do you know if resume is given any weight in this process? I noticed it was optional (which I've translated to 'you better do it') but is the Rucker board even going to look at it?
  10. I know this type of post is extremely common in this forum, but I've personally found them helpful in preparing my own packet. Below are my stats/progress in the WOFT application process. 23 Y/O Bachelors Degree PPL in fixed wing; 100 hrs 6 LOR's (1 ret. Army MAJ Pilot, 1 ret. AF Maj Pilot, 1 Retired AF Lt. Col Pilot, 2 Supervisors and 1 FAA DPE) AFAST: 123 (not thrilled with this score) AFQT: 98 ASVAB GT: 135 APFT:274 BOARD 75/75 EDIT: Selected Was just informed today 11/15 that I was selected by the Nov. board.
