  1. Don't need to be 160th to do 160th type stuff. Just have a CC who is 160th and runs his unit that way with deck quals, Seals, SF, and more
  2. It feels nice to be able to take a break! lol... but about to get back into it again before I head to my unit. I didn't have any bubbles after BOLC. Would have had three weeks off, but they asked for volunteers to jump into SERE right away and I went. From there Aeromed came quickly, less than two weeks off, immediately followed by Primary which transitioned straight into instruments, straight into BWS, then we had 10 days from selection to start of 60s. Have a neighbor who had 6 weeks off recently, we had 10 days. Selection, think we had 2 Apaches, 1 Chinook, 2 Kiowas, and about 9 Hawks. Two classes before and after us were really guns heavy, we were Hawk heavy. The class right before us had quite a few PT failures and the first failure (bottom of the OML) still had a 60, 64, and 58 to choose from. The two 58s went before the 1 Hook, was surprised. There are a lot of PT failures! Don't be one of them, it isn't hard to pass. WOCS PT failures, BOLC, selection, and graduation. Don't let the only thing keeping you from graduating is a simple PT test. With that said, other than potentially having fewer options at selection, there really isn't any punishment for failing. No getting kicked out, no humiliation, just do more PT and show up at BCo. Take time off, chill, get paid. So I heard at least... Know one guy, good dude but weak on PT, failed selection and grad PT test. I started BOLC in December, first flight was early April, final checkride end of Feb, graduated mid March. So about 15 months for the 60M course from starting BOLC-grad. It goes by faster than you think, the 60 course really flew by. We had a couple fail WOCS (5 weekers who came with us for failing something online, then failing at WOCS). One guy from BOLC got set back then failed out of Primary. Lost one due to a medical issue. One from my class got to 58s, then failed 5&9s and is gone. Various setbacks for various reasons - life happens. Once you get to the flight portion, as long as you study and do well on academics, they'll work with you. If you aren't quite getting the flying portion, they can give you extra hours. If you fail a checkride, they can give you more hours. If you just don't perform on exams (you can retake, but don't make a habit of poor performance) or 5&9s, you're done. In the 60 class before us a guy made it all the way to the Hawk, failed back-to-back 5&9s and was gone. Do well on academics, know 5&9s, have a good attitude and you'll be fine - even if you're having a hard time with flying cause that they'll work with. Know two guys who failed two checkrides, they just graduated. Get your own study habits down that work for you. I studied all week, took Friday night - Sunday morning off as my own personal time, then back in the books Sunday afternoon. Work hard and have fun, it goes by faster than you realize (looking back).
  3. CW2 And you would be surprised. Was a young kid out of basic, failed his WOCS entrance PT. Made it in the next one, graduated from WOCS. Headed into BOLC, on Friday asked what if he was going to be sick on Monday - BOLC PT test. They were surprised and asked how he knew he was going to be sick then. Sure enoughhe went to sick call and didn't start. Did it again the next time. Finally they said you're taking the next PT. Young 20s, thin, failed it. And the next one. Now he's gone. Just didn't want to be here.

  6. From what I remember your recruiter passes it up the chain, they pass it wherever, then it goes to proponent at Rucker. They look over everything (strength of your packet) and either recommend approving or disapproving it before sending it to HRC for final decision.
  7. Little over two years ago when it was start training before 33rd birthday Then the argument was - what did they consider training? BCT, WOCS, other? I was selected at 32
  8. I had one, was turned away by MEPS when I went in to sign my contract after being selected. Submitted it, denied - after being selected! Turned out a guy in Seattle disapproved it when he had no authority to and Proponent, at Rucker, helped straighten it all out. Now finally graduate next week
  9. 5&9 a must. NCW as well. After that I'd say systems because it felt like some IPs were more concerned with you knowing that then they were with your actual flying. If you've made it this far you'll be fine
  10. Is unfortunate, at Rucker I have seen numerous divorces, break ups, cheating by girlfriends, boyfriends while dating and engaged. If they're not 100%... good luck
  11. It just depends on how many are offered, what your class wants and where you are on the OML. Know if classes where guns went last, with my class they went first. Know of PT failures (very bottom of OML) who got 60s in one class, 64s in another class. If you're not the top of the class it comes down to luck.

  14. An instrument IP friend got notice he's getting laid off early next year. Said nearly a third are. The airframe training/flight time breakdown handout they give at B Co and during BOLC shows a slight reduction in hours for the 64 course in FY 2014. Forgot how much
  15. Added info above. Big change from two classes ago where the first PT failure, who automatically goes to the bottom of the OML, had their choice of 60, 58, and 64!
  16. Commissioned: 2 64 2 58 1 47 60s for the rest. Guns went first, 47 went to the 7th person I think. Today's Warrant selection: 1 47 2 64 3 58 8 60 The 47 went to the 5th person, the last 58 went to the 6th, last 64 went to the 7th. I went 60s. Put it down as my top choice a couple weeks ago, saw a 60 at the hospital on the way in this morning, was the first to get mandatory 60s lol. Overall we lost four from selection, two to height/weight (tape test), two failed the PT. Just a heads up, and this in no way judges or criticizes policy or decisions, but don't expect to get any leave after selection. Guns got sent to details, all NG 60A/L got sent to details, active duty 60M has to report to PT every day until the start of class on the 20th. No leave/passes will be accepted until 48 hours after selection, and then it isn't a given it will be approved. We were denied leave when we tried a month ago, were told to submit it after selection, now told two days from now. Just a heads up - so you don't buy airline tickets in advance that you can't use like so many in the class did. FYI, it is possible PT may become mandatory in IERW on Saturdays, overheard the CC mention it at PT formation this morning to a B Co cadre member. Not sure if it is talk, an idea, or going to happen.

  18. Don't know how many, if any, failed PT today, but my section had 2 bust tape. Class before had 2 PT failures, 7 the one before that, 2 or 3 the one before them. They don't get the boot, just time to get in shape and pass. Failures go to the bottom of the OML no matter how good they did on everything else. Of the two who busted tape, one was active, one Guard. Don't get me wrong, are some great Guard people out here.
  19. I've seen a handful really try to score better in academics and flight line. Too many times I've heard Guard say they dont care what they get as long as they pass. Then the same people are out of town every weekend partying it up. Active have to do good in academics, flight, and still find time to PT which takes away from academics and sleep. Must be nice to take it easy. Not everyone is like that, but the ones who are make the rest look bad.
