  1. Spot 5 or 6, low light in the middle of ocean in a 53 sucks too.
  2. That's a question that has been bugging me when I heard about it too. If someone can shed some light on the subject, I would like to know also. FYI, I'm not bashing or being critical about the Army's way of doing things. just curious.
  3. Dunker training sucked for me but that's because I have a fear of drowning. It's not as bad as everyone lets on to. They will build you up and train you well for the egress. Just remember not to let go of your reference point. you'll be fine.
  4. live your life with no regrets. You won't be making $100+ in the mil, but it won't be chump change either. You'll gain tons of invaluable experiences.
  5. I don't discount the need to reward these individuals for their service and achievements within their MOS, but I can't condone it's hierarchy on the list. No f'ing way it should be higher than the bronze star. If you want to do something about it, here's the petition to the whitehouse. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/lower-precedence-new-distinguished-warfare-medal/5KdnkBBN
  6. If you can handle the commitment and lifestyle, try going mil. Every branch of service will have their pros and cons. It is up to you do decide which path you want. This site is pretty heavy on Army careers. check out airwarriors.com for navy, marine corps and some coastie info.
  7. I assumed after post #19, you were talking about yourself. Personally, I would never do it. I'd do p90x and count my calories like I recommended to you.
  8. I think you're missing the point. If you wanted a simple yes/no answer, a poll would have sufficed. You instead got advice on losing weight, which is exactly what the end state you are requiring. It's nothing personal, just advice that you asked for.
  9. Lipo will be a short term solution. Once complete how long before you gain that weight back due to the diet you currently are on. compare the cost of lipo vs the cost of hiring a personal trainer to get the weight down. Losing weight and keeping it off is a lifestyle change, not a "I'm going to stop eating food X for me month." If you're motivated and have initiative, do P90x. I dropped from 185 to 165 halfway through by limiting my caloric intake to 2100 cal, writing down what I ate, and doing the program somewhat half ass.
  10. wow. I think we can all agree on one thing. "You may be right, but avbug is never wrong."
  11. my understanding is that when they take a guy out of flight school, that individual typically has SOF experience rather than those with no experience in that community.
  12. They fly MH-60 blackhawks , MH-47 chinooks, and MH/AH-6 little birds. They're going to be a little different than what regular aviation units fly though.
  13. If you are near a helo flight school, I would recommend visiting it and asking your questions there.
