  1. Cross posting as this my go to forum. Looking for info on which company has the best deals. I am in town this week and trying to take a flight with my girl who has never flown in a Helicopter. I am also going to propose this weekend but have not decided on a venue, was thinking one of you guys may have an inside track on how I might set something up to where I could maybe do it in the air? Any help greatly appreciated!!

  3. Same as it is active duty.

    ...sort of

Whatever the rate is, 1/30th for every drill/AFTP completed.

    i.e. I'm a warrant with +6. I get $650/month. So if I do a single AFTP, I get 1/30th of that. (~$22) If I do a "normal" drill weekend, which is equivalent to 4 AFTPs (UTAs), I'd get ~$88

Same deal with the non-rated folks, in general. (I think they're SUPPOSED to actually fly a specific amount per month to get paid... where a rated person could wait till the last month of their annual/semi-annual period and fly their hours, and still get paid.)

It's different for enlisted. I'm E3 with 2 and my HDIP is $5 per UTA.

  4. Lead, Follow, or get out of my way! Warrants will never be platoon leaders, they will never be executive officers, they will never be company commanders. Warrants are advisors to commanders and decision-makers. That is what you signed up for. You could have gone through OCS or ROTC, but you didn't. All you can do is be an asset to your unit and (as corney as it is) "be all you can be."

Umm, my company's XO is a CW3....

  5. Your initial PT test at AIT will be faster, then EOC AIT will be the best one, probably of your career...

Heads up.... The state will use your EOC at AIT for your packet. Well mine did. And luckily I did great on it because I didn't know they were doing that.

Push yourself not only to pass it to graduate but because it's probably gonna be in your packet too.

Yep, you were right.....16:32 today, still just barely passing from the 16:36 min, but it's almost a full min faster than my BCT EOC....Hoping to be in the 15's by the end of it all...We run ALOT here in AIT. So far we've run 3-4 miles every other day or so. MWF are run days so it's either an AGR, Release Run, or 60/120's.

Yea I remember you telling me they did that for you. Here hoping they do the same for me. I know that if we run regularly at AIT (which a lot of people say we do in C co.) then I can drastically improve my run time.

  7. 17:00 and proud of it haha OER shows that's a pass and that's what matters!

Hell yea! Passed that BCT EOC AFPT with a 17:28 (17:30 was passing!) Proud of it! Not really, but I was at the time. Our company never really ran, and I was slow as molasses coming into BCT (19:55 on first 2MR!) and I still am. Hoping to get much faster with all the running they say we do in AIT.

  8. Shiped to Ft. Jackson last week, reception when by fine, albeit it sucked, but no issues. Two days before ship day I was cleaning the latrine, and while clean a tough spot off the mirror I cracked it. Long story short, I told the PG, he told the DS, DS said I had to pay for it, last I hear about it.

Next thing you know, its ship day, and im standing in line waiting for the bus. DS calls me out of line and has me fill out a blank Statement of Charges so they have my info.

As the busses are litterally pulling up, DS pulls me back out of line says the commander wants me to standfast until a proper SoC can be calculated by 1SG and I sign it. Of course its ship day and no one has time for that. So I get to watch the busses drive away as I stand there a healthy squared away soilder and fall into hold over status.

If you've never been a hold over, it is terrible! Detail after detail, and the DS wont tell you anything!

  9.

I would like some clarification as i beleive i screwed the pooch on this one. My recruiter (in an attempt to ensure men we had time to get my packet submitted said that "the cutoff for the Nov Board is Nov 7th". This is completely contradicted on the warrent board information website.

2nd question, if in fact my recruiter gave me bad information as a suspect, is there a chance that the packet can be pulled forward into the Nov board if approved and submitted in the next few weeks?

The packet cutoff for a board listed on the USAREC website is not the actual cutoff date. I've heard of people submit it a week before the board and get selected.
