"Now if there's one thing you can be sure of, it's that nothing is more powerful than a young boy's wish. Except an Apache helicopter. An Apache helicopter has machine guns AND missiles. It is an unbelievably impressive complement of weaponry, an absolute death machine."
  1. Heck yes Baybay!!! My last name is White. Sleep well man and hopefully I see you tomorrow!
  2. Who's heading out for BCT tomorrow? I'm in Charlie company and I'm yellow tape.
  3. Getting ready to head down to the MEPS hotel myself. See everyone down in Jackson soon!
  4. Great way to look at it, Yamer. Thanks for the wealth of knowledge and advice everyone! I'm grateful for your time and willingness to help out a newb and future Army Aviator like myself. Hopefully I get the 64 when the time comes! Kinda bummed the 58's are retired now.
  5. Great information! I plan on serving 20 plus years in the Army but I like to plan ahead and keep my options open. I would love to do Emergency Medical Service (EMS), off-shore to oil rigs, or corporate flying once I'm out. Seems like the UH-60 would be the best platform to select if I want to pursue those options; I sure do love the mission of the AH-64 though!
  6. Curious what the transition to civilian flying is like. Specifically regarding jobs available and transitioning from military platforms to civilian. Is there a "better choice" between choosing the UH-60 Black Hawk, AH-64 Apache Longbow, or the UH-47 Chinook? Are there/what are the strengths and weaknesses of the platforms when transitioning to civilian flight? I have always been drawn to the AH-64 and the UH-60 with aspirations to pursue a career in the 160th SOAR. I ship out to Fort Jackson on the 27th of October-I know I have awhile till selection but I want to weigh my options before
  7. I just sent you a PM then saw this! See you at BCT!
  8. Officially sworn in today! I Ship out for BT on October, 26th to Fort Jackson! Anyone else heading to Jackson for BT???
  9. Shoot same here! If a white bus pulled up right now I would be on that bus like a fat kid on cake!!! Earlier the better!
  10. AH-64 Apache Longbow! Second choice is the UH-60 Black Hawk. Ultimately, I'll fly whatever I can get my paws on! I've been considering working towards the 160th SOAR as well but that will be years down the road. Little Birds are SWEET!
