  1. Do you want to do agricultural work or do some other type of flying? Should be an easy answer once you figure that out.
  2. I'll agree to that I've seen it used and it does very nice video and has pretty good sound also.
  3. When I click on a topic now it's setup similar to JH but I don't see any "Display full msg thread" It's quite annoying to have to click on every individual posting to read it. Am I missing something?
  4. If you'd like to take your dad up on the discovery flight Hummingbird Aviation has a 44 you can do that in. Then if you decide to continue with your training they have the Schweizers which are a great platform to train in. I know the instructors first hand at Hummingbird and they are top notch. If you have anymore questions feel free to PM me.
  5. Sucks when you fall from the top though. You have no way to get back up
  6. Who would ever want to live up there that would be just about as bad as living in Hibbing!!! haha jk
  7. You can talk to Bills Flight School up by De Smet: http://www.billsflightschool.com/index.asp I think he is pretty flexible to train with if you're just looking to do it in your spare time
  8. Congrats, it's definitely a hard one to get and feels good to have it done. Commercial will be a breeze compared to that. Also a lot more fun now that you get to look outside. What aircraft did you take it in?
  9. Applebee Aviation has one: http://www.applebeeaviation.com/agricultural-pilot.htm
  10. Hey congrats hopefully I'll be able to say the same soon. Good Luck on Commercial
  11. I did some time in Civil Air Patrol and would recommend it to you. The flight time is cheap; I soloed airplane through it. And it'll help you get into the military if that is your goal
  12. Well I'll consider myself somewhat of an expert on this one considering I started flying helicopters when I was 15. It's not easy like the others have mentioned and not having the money will straight suck the life out of you. I had to give up a lot of things in order to make it possible but persistance pays off. If you're lazy it doesn't surprise me because that's the way a lot of 16 year olds are these days. You have to push beyond that mentality and prove everyone else wrong. Most everybody said that I would only go so far but here I am today with 110 hours and just finished the Robinson course (which I recommend). I've seen other young people do it; I'm not the only one, So stop being a teenager and start growing. Be a kid when your older and when you have money. Oops forgot were talking about being a pilot. JK So start investing money and securing your financial future and get a good job that offers lots of hours and doesn't care about you getting overtime. It doesn't matter if you like it just do what pays the best. Don't expect anybody to hold your hand in aviation because in the beginning it's every man for himself. That's not to say that we won't help you because we will. PM me if you have other questions Helo08
