I just finished a 20 year military flying career. I have just started a utility (fire/SAR/law) job that I am very much enjoying. I like the people I work with, the missions we do, and the machines we fly. The pay and benefits are good, too. I would not change much, and am extremely blessed and happy to be where I am at. Just my 1 cent worth of input...

Um... ok... this sounds... strange.

Call. Locate where you want to work, and Google the contact info. I have made so many random connections by just calling and being transferred. Don't underestimate the importance of connections, and people willing to help. Save the contact info... I had forces come into play that I had connected with a year or so prior. And, give back to those that are asking for help. Just my 2 cents...

Our Sea Hawks (H and F models) had floats. The Sea King had a boat hull (and floats). . . big difference.

The K Max looked VERY unstable.

Just got back from watching some of the helo action. Amazing sights and sounds. Like a rotor air show! I have some pics if anyone wants to see. Affirmed why I love helos, and am still down this road. Mud

I did 9 years in the Navy, and just retired after 11 in the Coast Guard. PM me if you want some info. Not a bad flying gig, but not perfect.

No... it's a stan pipe... and that is the approach angle...not much wiggle room to yaw. Plus, that was not even called as seen until I got out to take the pics and saw it! Also, it is displaced to the side of the tail, under the horizontal fin.

I have landed there as well. Pretty fun flight to replace a burnt out bulb... but only approach though...
