  1. Ok Guys! I need some advice.....I have been accepted as a Street to Seat guy for the Guard in my state. That was back in August. I was told a few days after that it would be Mid-September to hear something from a date standpoint. Well I waited patiently....then get to end of September. They WOSM told me that they were waiting till the Fiscal Year began in October. I was okay with that, as that seemed to be a viable excuse. Fast forward to 1/9/2019.....I have been waiting 152 days for some type of date. The WOSM tells me its the NGB and MEPSCOM that is having the issues. I do not understand why there should be an issue. The issue is not with me, apparently it is getting it setup in the system. Has to do with pay....I do not care right now....I am looking for advice..... Should I wait it out? Should I contact someone? I understand the hurry up and wait, but this seems to be getting old. What do you guys think? Apparently my state has already given me a flight school date...I am just ready to go! I want to get this process started as I have a family and my wife is eager to understand what is going on.....
  2. I have a question for everyone here. I'm currently in the Navy Reserves, have an active clearance, and am actively drilling but applying for WOFT Active Duty. I thought I was done with my packet and now just waiting for the selection board. My Army recruiter called me today saying I have to go to MEPS for a security interview. I told him I have an active clearance; I even have a civillian job that requires one. But, he says I still have to go up and basically re-aply for a clearance. Is this true? Is there anyway I can just show the Army I'm covered? I've had to go up to MEPS (which is about 5 hours away from where I live) 4 times already this year trying to get ready for selection.
  3. I'm new here but I am interested in applying to the WOFT program. I'm an E-5 in the Navy reserves with 6 years active and 4 years of reserve service in the books. I feel like I'm a strong candidate, but I'm only worried that I may not get the required waiver for the flight physical. I was briefly diagnosed with depression and an adjustment disorder (I self reported) in 2010. I saw a Navy doc for a few months (all out patient), and took anti-depressants, during that time and then I was fine. I've had no issues in what is now almost seven years. In 2013 I applied to Navy OCS to become an NFO, but ended up getting PDQ'd for my past depression diagnosis (that was a huge let down). That was three years after treatment, and now I'm seven years out and I have completed a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, and more years of great service in the Navy and Navy reserves. When I was disqualified in 2013 I didn't follow through on the appeal process because I was so discouraged. This time if the Army turns me down on my first physical I'm going to try to appeal as long as I can and fight it (hopefully I won't have too). I've read the Aero med guide and it shows I'm eligible for a waiver since I've been of medication for over six years. Also I may be going on a deployment next year which will show more good service with no issues. I plan to apply for the WOFT program in a year or so, I have to get Lasik first. I plan to study for the SIFT and ASVAB this summer to boost my scores as high as possible. I don't know if I'm going to be able to get a psych waiver, but I plan to make the Army tell me no. You miss every shot you don't take. Do I have a decent shot at getting a waiver?? My stats: Age: 29 Degree: Bachelors in Information Technology: Magna Cum Laude, and Master's in Human Resources Management. GT: Currently 106 but I'm going to retake that section to bring it above 110 (but as high as possible). SIFT: Not taken yet but I scored a 46 6/5/6 on the ASTB. AFPT: Not done yet but I score well in my Navy PT tests. Flight Physical: Pending Flight Time: Private Pilot, Single Engine Land with 83 hours total time. Military: 10 years Navy active and reserve. LORs: None yet but I know some O-5s, active and retired.
  4. Quick question for the VR community. Has anyone processed a WOFT packet while overseas? Preferably on the civilian side. If so, what was the process like and how long did it take you? Was everything pretty much one stop since they fly you in or did you have to go more than once? Officers board and Battalion board done in Europe? I was MIA for a while flying around Saipan (North of Guam) building flight hours and now I'm back in Croatia finishing up my WOFT packet with a recruiter in Germany. Been working on this thing for-ev-er. According to the recruiter we're set to make the Nov. 28th - Dec. 2nd board but I'm yet to see and believe his claim of supreme competency compared to the CONUS recruiters. Also.... Is Shindig alive? Thanks.
  5. So, found out that the meps security interview was a no go. I had a bad debt (<$3000) about 14 years ago that I settled and the bank close the account. I told the interviewer this and I was apparently disqualified because of this. My recruiter thinks my only recourse is to get congress to override it. Am I insane in thinking everyone involved in this process has lost there ever loving minds? Does everybody in the military really never have a single bad debt? WTF? I was in college and stupidly signed up with a 'credit counselling' company and they settled it. I thought this sh*t was behind me. But apparently if you are honest at the interview, you will get rejected. I'm so pissed off right now. My credentials are as competitive as anyone and I'm getting thrown to the side for this kind of BS?! Really pissed. Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this? Or am I SOL? My recruiter is clueless and completely unhelpful.
