  1. Hi anyone. I am 19 years old and want to start my process of applying for WOFT. I am still somewhat young so I'm taking things easily. My only concern is my blood pressure. Since I was 16 I have been taking medication to manage my blood pressure. I've always been fit and healthy, I am not overweight or anything. My doctor has recently brought the idea of taking me off my meds since my blood pressure has been great since I started treatment. The medication I'm taking is a very small dosage and so I strongly believe that I can beat this by starting a healthier lifestyle. I know high blood pressure is a DQ, but would anyone know If I could get a waiver (or have to) assuming that I'm able to control my blood pressure without any medication? I heard its a pain in the butt to deal with waivers, but I won't give up easily as it's my ultimate goal in life to one day be an Army aviator.
  2. Hello everyone, I'm a new member on this group. Looks like a great forum. I need some help. I wish to become a helicopter pilot and would really appreciate your guidance. (background:I'm in my second last year of engineering from India) I had the following few questions in this regard: Your help is much appreciated.  Which country has the best institutes for helicopter training?  Among the institutes in the recommended country which are ranked on the top?  Which helicopter should one train on?  Which is the best terrain for helicopter training?  Are there any special requirements for admission to the institute?  How and when can I start preparing for the admissions?  Are there any implications regarding LASIK eye correction surgery?  How is current job scenario for helicopter pilots?
  3. This may seem like a silly question but until recently I had never gone for a physical. I started turned in my MedXpress online portion a fair amount of time before going in for the actual physical. Mainly due to nerves that I wouldn't pass due to my eyesight. Going off some advice I received previously, I went in to apply for my second class certificate since I knew that if I started down this road I'd want to go for at least my commercial cert. Anyway, I went in and ended up walking out with a first class cert the same day. From what I've heard, this process could take weeks. The doctor is actually the one who informed me that he could issue me a first class cert right then because I met all the requirements and it was the same price. I was ecstatic because I had been worried for so long on whether or not I'd even qualify for second class but the more I think about it the more I wonder how legit it is. Could it really be that easy or was I duped? I'm not trying to sound uniformed or ungrateful if it's legit, just curious.
