I'm looking for some feedback on my WOFT essay that I wrote. Its only the first draft but I need brutal honesty. If its complete garbage or not what the board is looking for I need to know. I'm pretty new to the army and am a pfc in the infantry at the moment. I've completed a year training cycle with my unit and have been to JROTC. Ill be going to air assault soon to be more competitive with my woft packet. Most of my experience is outside the army. I'm 30 years old with a lot of experience with other jobs. I'm going to pursue a helicopter pilot's license with the end goal of making money with it.. How I get my license (military vs civilian flight school) is what I need to decide. What I want to know is: If I stay civilian and go through flight school, am I less likely to find a job as a pilot (let's just say any heli pilot job for argument's sake) than if I were coming out of the military? I want to consider the years of service I would have to do in the military as part of the opportunity cost as well. I understand that military training may be more rigorous but will it make a signifi

All, I am a civilian with no prior military experience currently working on my WOFT packet. Can someone tell me if I am on the right track with my WOFT essay? I wrote this early on so I can revise it over time and am checking to see if this is on the right track to a solid essay. Trying to keep it down to 3 concise paragraphs per some of the helpful information found throughout this great forum. Its in very rough form so I am hoping to continue working on it. Thanks in advance for your evaluation. "Why I Want to be an Army Aviator" As a Warrant Officer and Army Aviator, my leadership,

I'm currently in the process of filling out my WO packet. I just have one quick question at this time. I am a civilian and filling at the Resume form 3.2. I just graduated from college in December and I have worked part-time at the college for 4 and a half years. I am still currently employed at the college part-time. The instructions say to list all civilian experience that may relate to the WO position I am applying for. I don't have any. I played sports in high school but that's about it. I guess my question is if it is common for civilian applicants to not have any relatable experience

Hello all, I am putting together my packet and being straight out of college, I am lacking in experience to put on my resume. I only have two jobs to list (currently still employed) that I've worked for almost a year now, one for FedEx and the other for a union in Washington D.C. I also started an e-commerce business last year but am hesitant to list it as the company doesnt make any money and am not sure if it would come off as me trying to be a big shot. Apart of me thinks that I should include anything I can while another part of me thinks its not a good idea. Any thoughts are welcome

Hello all, I am shooting for the July board. I have a few LoR's inbound (unfortunately no SWO's) and I am chipping away at the paperwork. I have a draft of the essay and the resume I would like some feedback on. I used the format given on the sample packet on the USAREC site. It has been a bit of a head hurter. I want my essay to be unique but from my experience... follow the damn instructions. My wife is an English major so she will be hitting me up on that grammar, punctuation, etc. However, I would like some community professionals to pick apart the format and content.
