I've always been curious what lessors charge for various turbine models. I read for fixed wing dry lease rates are usually around 1-1.5% of the aircraft value per month, does this rule of thumb apply to the rotorcraft industry? How does the percentage rule apply to used aircraft, does it adjust for aircraft age or is it always based on the original purchase price? I've always found the business side of helicopter operations fascinating!

Hello, I'm Barry, a career firefighter/EMT building helicopter flight experience. I have shared and/or completed four cross country ferry flights in the R-44. I am continuously learning from other pilots and technicians. If you have a company repositioning flight, or a ferry flight and you would like a handy fella to bring along, I'm your guy. Does anyone know the going pay rate for international pilots performing tour and VIP operations? I know tour operations in the US pay a pretty widely scaled rate from operation to operation, but does anyone know what pilots whom are recruited to fly overseas tend to be paid?

Does anyone have any information on the following: How does the process breakdown for learning to fly different types of helicopters? If you start in a trainer (R22/R44/S300CBi/etc.), how does the progression work for larger and/or more complicated aircraft (turbines, etc.)? Is this done through formal training (schools, etc.) or OJT from an employer? Is this based on how many hours you have accumulated? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
