  1. Good morning everyone, I'm an Italian military pilot and I'm attending IERW and BWS in Fort Rucker. Spending my time here I'm really enjoying American Army aviation, I really appreciate the American Army values, and also I've found a really special person for whom I would like to move here. I'm a O-3 of the Italian Army, I'm 30yo, I have a bachelor degree in Strategic Sciences, I've got a fixed wing PPL (EASA), 20h on Italian military Fixed wing and all the rotary wing hours foreseen by the IERW course at Rucker (about 90H plus 30h of sim). Is there any chance I can be a WO in the American army? I'll be here for another couple of weeks, is there anything I could do to facilitate this before leaving? Thank you for your time and I really appreciate any info you can provide.
  2. Hello All, So I'm looking at submitting a flight packet next year for the May board and the only thing really concerning me at this point is my height... I'm 26, female and served 4.5 years active duty working as a 15P before getting out and going to school. My degree is in Aviation and Aerospace science with a concentration on being a flight officer. I'm currently working on my flight training on the civilian side but I've always wanted to fly for the Army. I have 2 W5s writing my LORs along with my flight instructor, but, all that doesn't mean much if I can't pass the physical. I stand proud and tall at 5'3 and I know I don't meet the regs for the height requirements. Does anyone know of anyone my size who's been granted the waiver and gotten into flight school? I'd hate to be DQd for something beyond my control. Cheers! -A
  3. Looking to get a little bit of feedback on a WOFT essay. First draft looking for some feedback to help get it into shape. I did research before posting so hopefully it isn't totally garbage. Why I want to be an Army WOFT Aviator The primary reason for me wanting to be an Army Aviator lies in the fact that I have a strong desire to serve my country in what I believe is a higher capacity than what I have done so far. I had a great deal of fulfillment from being an Avionics technician in the Navy working on the H-60 helicopter for 7 years. Seeing the versatility in the mission set of helicopters is an amazing feat to witness. From Medevacs, SAR, Submarine hunting, the list goes on. I see this versatility with one helicopter and the possibilities in the Army are even greater. Personally, I want to fly and support the men and women on the ground who rely on competence in the air to assist them, whether this be in the form of combat support, medevacs, reconnaissance etc. The responsibility to be the person in the sky that troops rely on is a task I embrace with open arms. This, coupled with my history of being a highly successful and sought out avionics technician on a rotary platform, can provide me the necessary tools to be a highly successful flying Warrant Officer for the Army. My strong background in aviation will assist me in being a vital asset to the Army, but with that my determination as well. Upon separation from the Navy I enrolled in a University in pursuit of an Aviation and Aerospace Science degree. Maintaining a 4.0 GPA balancing full time school, full time work, and maintaining high physical fitness has been a challenge but also an attestation to the motivation I possess to achieve goals. In addition to the admiration for rotary wing versatility and a desire to support the boots on the ground, I also have a great respect for the Army Flight Warrant Officer community being the subject matter experts in rotary wing aviation. While it is understood that being a subject matter expert does not mean knowing everything, I do believe it is a badge of honor to be sought out by all ranks high and low for inquiries regarding helicopter aviation. It in these reasons that I hope to convey to the board that I do indeed have the background, motives, and sheer determination required to be an asset to the Army Flight Warrant Officer ranks if selected. My background, high evaluations while in the service, high GPA while in school accompanying a busy schedule are all evidence of the traits I possess that I believe drive a successful candidate.

Hey everyone, I've been reading around and it sounds like there's going to be a lot of running at WOCS, to the point that most Youtube videos on the subject I've seen says that's the thing a candidate should be preparing for most, and that 6 mile runs are pretty common and to be able to run 7 minute miles. Is this the case? I'd consider myself in good shape, generally get about a 260 on PT, and whatnot, but running has never been my strong suite. I'm working through a 6 week plan to improve my times before I leave, but I guess I'm just wondering how difficult PT actually is at WOCS. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I've been trying to find different posts that address this, as I'm sure you all are tired of answering the same questions over and over again, but so far I haven't had much luck or people have individual circumstances that are different. I got selected back in July, to start WOCS in January. I'm a prior service E4, so no BCT for me. I've gotten very little information about what the move is going to be like, what the process is (when I was doing my research it was WOCS, SERE, BOLC, flight school, or close to that), and how COVID has changed things. I've reached out to my recruiting staff and they aren't familiar with the process either. I've been reading on here that COVID has led to a lot more freedom and online training. What's life like in training right now? What does the process look like right now? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm married too so I'm looking at moving onto housing after WOCS, unless that too has changed. Thanks!
  6. I know it's a bit early, but is there anyone looking forward to the May 2020 Board? Has your packet already been submitted? Do you have any questions?
  7. What is the process of picking or getting accepted by a reserve unit for WOFT, outside of putting together a packet? Would it be wise to start contacting units near me once I've completed my packet? I asked my recruiter this question and he was honest with me saying he wasn't sure since he's only done active-duty packets, but that doing woft reserves is 100% possible. I've read a lot on here about going guard, but there's not a lot of info on the reserves. My state (FL) does not allow civilians to do the woft program (I asked the wosm) so that's not a possibility since I'm not enlisted in the NG. I don't wish to do active-duty since my job, that I very much enjoy, is flexible enough to accommodate the time needed to get the required flight hours during the week.
  8. Any current Warrant Officer Pilots that have successfully completed a full Interservice Transfer to become a Warrant Officer Aviator they have any advice for me as this has been a true dream of mine to accomplish and now I have the opportunity to do so.
