I havent heard a lot of talk about this for some reason. We are now only 10 days away !

Any locals going?

I will be working the PHPA booth in the morning, so if you are in the area stop by and say hi. I'll be the 6-5, 250 pound guy...if you can't see me, you just lost your medical. If you dont belong to PHPA bring a check for $35 bucks or so.....its money well spent.

Also, anyone flying in for the show, Whiteman Airport (WHP) is just 2 minutes away, and I would be happy to come over and play taxi to get you to the show.

Hey Goldy,

I've never heard of this event before but it looks very interesting and fun.

Dane and I will probably go and check it out. Look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks for the updates.

Not able to make it on this short notice Goldy! Just got back from 18 days on the fires here in Norcal. May head back out sometime in the near future after a few days of rest.

How are those fires going out there. I wish I was there right now I would definately be getting peice of the action. You probably have seen of few of our birds out there, We still have two CH-47s in Stockton with our rear detachment, the other 10 are out here in afghanistan with me.

I wish I could go but I can't I'm still stuck here in Afghanistan. I'm bumed I'll miss the verticle challege as well in San Carlos, thats my favorite. We usually fly a Ch-47 down from the unit for static display. Have fun Goldy ! only 2 days to go by my clock ,12.5 hrs ahead over here.

San Carlos came and went a few weeks ago......now down to just 1.5 days to the American Heroes show. Just let us know when you get back into the states and we'll buy you a beer as a consolation prize.

Thank you for your service in Afghanistan. Kick ass and dont bother taking names.

Well I was hoping for a little bit more than just a rappelling demo, and a fly by water drop, but t was a free airshow. It was also nice to see up close some of the heli's that I've never seen, like the BO-105, Cobra and the fire hawk.

You forgot to include the parachute jump team...but yeah, not a lot in the skies..the show is mostly static displays. Who knew that DEA flew a BO 105?? Pretty damn cool helicopter..seemed like we were missing a lot of ships though. Only the local fire ships came in (big fires in No Cal made sure of that)...lots of LA ships were not there...Customs had a blackhawk last year, no show this year...etc.

Still a steady stream of people, but I thought it was 10 or 12 ships short from last years show.

More than likey that same BO-105 from the DEA came into Western Helicopters last year a few times to practice EP's (on the schools 500). A few of us students went to check it out and see the "ridgid" rotor system up close and in person and see what it was all about. The pilots were real cool and enjoyed giving us a tour of it. Though we couldn't talk them into giving us a "RED BULL" type demonstration when they left!
