chamerican
Very cool vid. That shot of the MI-26 is pretty cool too. There was one parked in Kandahar when I flew in and it was a monstrosity. My buddies said they climbed a STAIRWAY up the tail boom.

AV8
Too cool. You gotta love the Chinook. The Chinook is an awsome helicopter but I think flying is making me lazy! I've got to get back into something with a tail rotor.

Well max gross weight of a military chinook is 50K lbs. the aircraft fully equipped without fuel weighs about 26K, so if you drop some equipment and a few thousand pounds of fuel it is possible for a chinook to carry another at low altitudes and low temps. But the Army is very conservative of what it rates its helos at, but I'll bet a Columbia helicopter is rated at higher weights being its a civilian helicopter and civilian companies always find ways to increase the load carrying capabilities of helicopters to the max. Over in Afghanistan if we can't pull security and fix it in the field it will most likely get blown up!

On the fixed wing side I sure do love those A-10's maybe i'm just sick.
Darkhorse
The E/G and I thought F models max gross is 54,000. Columbia uses old C models, I think they are rated to 51,000 though as per their website. During desert storm we got a waiver a few times to go to 60,
