NerwOlek Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Hi,I'm looking for school around SA or LA in california. Can you give me guys some infos?Need JAA school. I found one but can't finde any information about it - UK Flight Training - http://www.ukft.com/. If there is no schoole like that where i can finde others in USA? Quote
Hawkeye0001 Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 (edited) Hi! Seems a bit odd to me. Take a look at their pricing, not all prices are shown obvious on their website. Their "1000hr Professional Helicopter Program" for JAA costs $87.000. Taking a closer look they charge another $51.000 for the JAA-Conversion (incl. IR, w/o IR its still $11.000). This conversion takes place in the UK for about 6 month to take the JAA CAA tests there. "We will provide complete JAA conversion procedure guidance for your convenience."--> Sounds like they don't do the course themselves - I guess you've to attend another flight school for this "# On arrival, before commencement of training you will be required to open an account with 50% of the total cost of your course package.# You will be required to pay the balance on the 10th day of your training."Reminds me on Silver States policy... Way to risky to put all your money in at once - besides you have to take all flight lessons you've paid for in just 12 month! Just take a closer look at their Application Form under "Guaranteed financial security" - this sounds really insane to me! (For example they release your funds in stages if you want to change flight school, they refuse you the hour building option if you are unable to fly at least 25hrs/m and so on...). If you read their webpage you'll find more and more flaws like these. Take your time and choose an alternative - putting that much money in your own future you should be 100 percent sure which school to attend. The only other JAA-Flight school out of european borders I know is Bristow Inc./FL with a full JAA-program in Florida (afaik you've to take only the written exams in GB, not 100% sure about it). Just my 2 cents. Edited July 19, 2008 by Hawkeye0001 Quote
rick1128 Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 I found a reg flag right on the initial page. They claim to have started operations in 1991, but also claim to have over 20 years in the business. Their math isn't real good. Plus no one has seem to have heard of them. Personally, I would look at more established schools, like Bristow. Quote

ADRidge Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 I second Bristow Academy, Titusville. It's on the opposite end of the country, but to my understanding the JAA program is what they specialize in. Quote
