adam32 Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Its usually $100 or so an hour, minimum 30-40hrs a month. You also pay for basic maintenance, insurance, and fuel. Quote

Do you know what kind of maintence schedule needs to be followed? Is it every 100 hours or does that change if you are not a school. Who is responisble if something breaks on the engine or something like that? Do they have warrantees? I am looking for different options once I get my ppl. Thanks again. Quote
jehh Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Thanks for the reply. Do you know what kind of maintence schedule needs to be followed? Generally you need to follow the manufacture recommended maintenance schedule. Is it every 100 hours or does that change if you are not a school. Helicopters need those, regardless of the use of the aircraft, you fly too far past one and things start to break on you. Who is responisble if something breaks on the engine or something like that? Do they have warrantees? You are responsible for all maintenance. If the aircraft is new, there is generally a 2 year, 1000 hour warranty on the aircraft, however that can vary. I am looking for different options once I get my ppl. Thanks again. Leasing a helicopter is generally for flight schools and commercial operators, if you are a private owner, you'll be better off in the long run to simply buy one. The economics of a leased helicopter make little sense unless you're flying the heck out of it. Quote
