dolphindriver Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 No matter what service, you will require a Secret security clearance. So your background will be checked. There isn't a lie detector test but one of the key elements of being an officer is integrity. By the way, they won't ask if you have taken drugs in the last seven years, they will ask if you have ever taken drugs. I know the rules on letting someone into the military if they have smoked marijuana but trying Cocaine even once is highly frowned upon. Call a recruiter and ask. Quote
100%RPM Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Maybe they would over look the "drugs expermentation" if you joined the Say No to Drugs program. That way you could help young people from making the same mistakes you made. What does your father have to say about this? I hope things work out for you. Quote
FLHooker Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I echo what dolphindriver said... the only thing i would add is that a recruiter may not give you great advice... take that with a grain of salt. CHAD Quote
dolphindriver Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 (edited) I guess he didn't get the answer he wanted to hear. Edited November 25, 2008 by dolphindriver Quote
FLHooker Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Yeah, he probably wanted us to tell him don't worry about it, it's in the past... lie about it. Nope... Sorry Quote
