JoanJet
Wow, that does sound like a scary ride. Sounds like that pilot held his own for sure. Um, not sure I needed to see the pics of the seats though - eeewwwwwwwww. But a good illustration of what their day was like.
1badz32
My car buddy works in the GOM on the riggs, his company contracts through Air Log... i asked him if he knew of this incident and he did (as he should) but he seen these same pic's earlier this year. In the post it lists the incident happening in Nov of '08. But if you down load the pic's it lists them taken 7/7/06.Something is phishy here. TomPPL
Attached is a photo I've just taken of my computer, download the pic and see the date. Could've been incorrectly set on the camera - could be fishy too BUT it's no good relying on camera memory either. Anyone have any more info on this..? clay
good friend in the G.O.M who flies w/ air logistics emailed me those pics. they are legit. word is they never actually touched down in the water, yet came to a hover above it, and then continued up to the rig. popped the floats as a precautionary measure en route to the water. could be true? could be B.S. maybe boatfixer will have some G.O.M insight on this incident. 1badz32
No matter what the case, i gotta tip my hat to the pilots. Cool hands and level heads prevailed, everyone arrived safe and the bird will fly another day. My friend and i had a conversation this morning about one of his best friends who wasnt so fortunate. His friend went down in an S-76 in '04 with 9 other people. BOATFIXERGUY
good friend in the G.O.M who flies w/ air logistics emailed me those pics. they are legit. word is they never actually touched down in the water, yet came to a hover above it, and then continued up to the rig. popped the floats as a precautionary measure en route to the water. could be true? could be B.S. maybe boatfixer will have some G.O.M insight on this incident. The incident was on last hitch (maybe 4 weeks ago). I was flying that day in a 206B3. The weather was brutal. They did a good job not going swimming!
