Chopper Tom Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I see the border patrol is hiring helicopter pilots. I have been a police chief for 12 yrs and meet all their requirements. I am thinking of applying for one of the jobs in the upper mid west. I was wondering if some one works for them and can discribe a normal days work, and any other info they would be willing to share. Thanks Quote
palmfish Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 So you were a police chief before your 28th birthday, and you've also managed to get a commercial and instrument rating and build 1500 hours flight time? Impressive. Quote
Chopper Tom Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 I am a chief in a small town. I started when I was 22 and still the only one in town. I have been flying since 2000. I fly helicopter rides, and powerline during the year. Since I am the only guy, I can make my own schedule which works great for flying. Quote
palmfish Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Wow, good for you! Best of luck with CBP. I don't work for them so I won't try to answer your questions. Everything you ever wanted to know about applying and working for them can be found here... http://www.aptap.org/forum/phpBB3/index.php Quote
