casej21
Hi guys looking for advice. I'm looking into becoming a helicopter pilot and attending PCC (Portland Community College) which works with Hillsboro aviation. I will be using my post 9/11 gi bill which will pay for every thing. So I quess my question is if I can devote full time to this about how long should it take till I will have enough hours to get a job after instructor? kodoz
Full time, good student, you should have your ratings through CFII in a year, give or take. I don't know how being with PCC's degree program will affect time through the program--Hillsboro should tell you that. No hurry though, instructor positions are hard to come by right now. You may be waiting a long time just for the break that gets you a CFI job. From there, a busy school can get you 1000 PIC in 10-12 months, a not so busy school may take a few years.
