Parafiddle
What are the chances of a FW pilot who works for a company that operates both airplanes and helicopters getting trained on the job to fly RW? I used to know a guy that did it working for a State Forest Service. I'm told it happens sometimes in larger companies (person gets hired to fly airplanes, and is eventually trained by the company to also fly their helicopters). Anybody have any information? I'm an airplane pilot now (though don't have enough hours yet to get a FW job). Hoping to get a job someday flying charters but want to fly helicopters as well. nikon858
Anything is possible....I've only got 350 hours and a flying a 206 for a private individual...it's all about who you know, and sometimes just getting lucky.
RagMan
As Nikon said, it's all about your connections. The greater the range of people you know in the industry, the greater your chances are of doors opening up for you.
