AirOneMatthew
Hey All, This is somewhat embarrassing...I read a poem online about 2 weeks ago that was specifically about helicopters. I believe it was a journalist, but I can't remember. I meant to bookmark the site, but forgot to My question is since I really didn't offer any insight onto what the poem was about (besides helicopter flight) I was wondering if any of you could share some of the poems you may have found, in hopes one of them will be the one I was looking for! I found one in my google search today, but it wasn't it. I'll attach it at the bottom for those who want to enjoy. Thanks in advance for sharing! Mungo5
The Helo Pilots lamet? Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth And hovered out of ground effect on semi-rigid blades; Earthward I've auto'ed and met the rising brush of Non-paved terrain; And done a thousand things you would never care to - Skidded and dropped and flared Low in the heat soaked roar. Confined there, I've chased the earthbound traffic And lost the race to insignificant headwinds; Forward and up a little in ground effect I've topped the General's hedge with drooping turns Where never Skyhawk -or even Phantom flew. Shaking and pulling collective, I've lumbered The low untrespassed Halls of Victor Airways Put out my hand and touched a tree.
