Hello,

The job ad for PILOT that you placed on Justhelicopters.com and your website are very suspect. If I do not hear back from you with some proof confirming that you are a legitimate operator of helicopters I will delete your ad and report it to the authorities.

5. QUESTIONS???? Is this a normal procedure and fee structure for working in Nigeria? It seems to me a legitimate employer would pay such fees if there are any. Anyone have an comments or insights into this? Common sense makes this VERY suspect to me and I would like to pull the ad. But before I do, I wanted to seek others advice with regards to working in Nigeria. Is this a normal request?

Hi Lyn,

Adeboye is not a suspect name, it's quite a popular one for that part of the world. We are UK based and deal with a couple of Nigerian companies and have done for years. They employ a lot of technicians from around the globe with no apparent problems. They use our systems to place ads for jobs - examples are on our world map here:

http://www.rigg-access.com/map/jobs/

(zoom in closer to Nigeria for more details)

We've been online dealing with this since 1997 and are a current world leader in what we do so I feel well qualified to offer serious comments.

I have a feeling that Elite are a legitimate company, however, the correspondence you have received are undoubtedly a scam. We get many many correspondence from similar and have become quite adept at spotting them.

This one appears very sophisticated as they have already purchased ad space - I would recommend checking the card they used in more detail through your online payment provider. Also, and more importantly the email from permit_westernlinktravel@live.com demanding cash up front is from a free email address. Normally, this type of request (if required at all) would come from a bona-fide traceable email address. My guess is you'll be issued with a charge back once the card owner has realised their card has been used without their knowledge, this will then expose it for the scam it is.

As it turns out the address : permit_westernlinktravel@live.com does not surface on a few in depth searches we have carried out, this would also suggest it was created only a short while ago. The advice given on the companies main site at:

http://elitepetrochemical-ltd.com/ScamAlert.aspx

would therefore be prudent to follow in this situation.

It's sad to know that there are people out there who are so evil, given that the overwhelming people on this forum are honest, law abiding and willing to help others it's a shame. Thankfully though your prudent moderation on this forum is a good buffer for all.

Hope this helps!

A acquaintance of mine was scammed with money gram they would appear to be rather leaky.

Quit a sophisticated scam regarding a vehicle which existed HPI checked DVLA check.

They faxed a copy of a deposit to show they had funds With no acc No on. someone turned up and cleared the lot with a fake passport, the person in question has NEVER had a passport!! or applied for one, so there was a password required but the paying office never asked for it even though it stated on the form it was a requirement not the passport.

Police now have found money was removed in UK not Italy as supposed.

The MG people are trying not to pay out BEWARE

I received a few emails from this "Jacob Adeboye" and he has sent me a employment contract and contact information for this Sani lawal at Westernlink. These emails did not ask me for any money or any account information so at first I thought maybe it was real, but still had a serious doubt. Now I am pretty damn sure its a scam.

Has anybody else recieved anything like this?

there are scammers here...

I had an HGU 56 Helmet listed on the classified ads a few years back. I got and email from a guy that was interested. He said he would send me a check with an extra amount for the shipping... I got a check for $3700 dollars... was charging 500 for the helmet. I was instructed to mail back the rest of the money with the helmet... The check was fake (obviously) and postmarked from New Jersey... Not where the was to be sent. It was so obvious to me that this was a scam but I guess folks fall for it!

I did sell my helmet to a legit guy about 4 months later!!!

sounds like the same guy that tried to buy something from me, he was in NJ but using the name of a company in CALIF, so I called the co. to find out and was told he was counterfieting thier checks, I think the feds finally got him as they intercepted his payment to me. so I never saw it.
