r44dreamer Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDqx5_5EamA Sorry for causing the heated debate on this video. I originally posted the topic as a joke. to me it is obvious this pilot broke a few rules. if not, he definitely was using poor judgment. love helicopters and what they can do that airplanes cannot. there are safer ways to enjoy flying and bending rules without being this close to people and showing off for kids. this type of flying is the norm for this pilot. he also has a job with the lumkin county sheriff because of his helicopter. at night you will always know it is him. he will be flying low over a crowd with his siren going no matter what county he is in. this video is all over facebook including the pilots. if he gets in trouble over the video, it might save someones life. personally, i have broken many laws from time to time that seemed like a great idea in the moment. i would never post the video on the web unless i was already busted. i would have said something sooner, but i did not realize people where discussing the video. 1 Quote
Trans Lift Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Don't worry about it mate. It did turn into a good one though!! Ha ha Quote
Miloe Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Yep, the videos like this one are handy for a chuckle if nothing else. Or to pick apart and get everyone to thinking about what they would or would not do in those situations and why. Quote
AdminLB Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDqx5_5EamA snip - "love helicopters and what they can do that airplanes cannot." You are right, big difference between what helicopters and airplanes can do. Made me think of this funny picture. Downwash. I hope our female counterparts do not take offense to the picture. Just trying to inject a little humor into the seriousness and this pic illustrates that point.......kinda - sorta 1 Quote
PhotoFlyer Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) I guess I can post this now, since we are into the lighter side... Wonder if they are violating any FARs in this video? Or here. This just can't be safe. (same video, different time code) Edited July 28, 2010 by PhotoFlyer Quote

This just can't be safe. (same video, different time code) personally, i see no comparison. the red helicopter has a superior power plant. much less chance of engine failure than a lycoming piston. (especially for continuous upside down operations.) ad the fully articulating rotor system is an added bonus. the red helicopter is owned by Ferrari. that means Italian pilots. if you have ever watched jersey shore, then you are aware they have no rules. in conclusion robinson saftey/judgement FAIL Ferrari/bell just a normal day of safe flying Quote

Goldy Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 LOL. No worries, no offense, that's just f*cking funny!!! That's why I love hotloads! Pretty cool video too, the ship even did the Airwolf skidding U turn. I wish my R22 could do that. I know Jan Michael has a bit of a drinking problem, but I never personally saw him fly upside down.
