shb47 Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 http://www.iwizwheel.com/Site/iBal.html Thanks. I needed that. The app FilghtPlan also has W&B for helos and airplanes. Quote
edspilot Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 I have used iBal for about 4 months now and really like it. The one thing I like is the e-mail sent (if you want) to any address, for a future verification that you did a W & B. For rides, I just enter the weights of the pax(s) and then hit send and off it goes, I'm covered and have proof I did it. Customizable too. edspilot Quote
AIRWOLF4LIFE Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 (edited) I use Ibal as well and it's easy to use made just for helicopters. The developer is very friendly and answers emails very fast. Edited August 24, 2010 by AIRWOLF4LIFE Quote
PhotoFlyer Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 (edited) I use iBal, but I've always been disappointed in the lack of the ability to add aircraft templates that aren't already listed in the program. You also can't edit existing templates if your aircraft doesn't conform to the default. For example, I have flown an early B model with a range extender. The helicopter originally had a 73 gallon tank, but with the extender it's a 96 gallon tank. The program only allows 91 gallons in the tank. Although it isn't a deal killer for the program, it's annoying to have to pull out pencil and paper every time I need more than 91 gallons. For the record, I've contacted the developer about this limitation. To boil their response down, they said it's too complicated to enter new aircraft that have continuously changing arms for a station, so they aren't going to allow users to enter new aircraft templates. I don't see why it's too complicated. Tedious maybe, but not complicated. It's all listed nicely in the flight manual. Edited August 24, 2010 by PhotoFlyer Quote

Put in the gallon amount even though the program say's that its too much. Close the program and reopen and you'll find it accepts the higher gallon amount. Quote

Would still be nice if the developer allowed adding and editing of templates. Quote
Inferno Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 For that type of situation, use flight plan. Last time I used it, there was no lateral w/b, but it does allow you to enter all your own variables. You don't get the perty aircraft to punch the weights in, or the easy to use charts, but it does work... It just takes forever..... Thanks. Although it's a bit of a pain, it does work. No lateral envelope graph...but you get the lateral cg in the tabular listing. Quote
