On the south side of town there is a cable car ride, Duquesne Incline (http://incline.pghfree.net/); awesome view, you can see the entire city. Also, the zoo is one of the better ones I have been to; the PPG Aquarium is really nice(part of the zoo). For food, try the Firehouse Lounge (http://www.firehouse-lounge.com/Firehouse%20Lounge/home.html). I went there a few years back with the wife and we really enjoyed it. Have a great trip.

Woot Woot! Welcome :). Pittsburgh is often overlooked so I gush about it when I can ( as you will see). csw1000 had some good information, I would definitely agree with him regarding Mount Washington for a great view of the city. Just take one of the inclines like he suggested. It isn't hard to find as it is a popular spot. Whether you go in the day or at night, the skyline is absolutely gorgeous. If you're a baseball fan then you go to a pirates game for dirt cheap because they are terrible. You can purchase all-you-can-eat seats for like 20 bucks or something like that.

If you like bars and nightlife then you want to go to East Carson Street on the Southside. It has more bars/clubs per block than anywhere in the world (so I've been told).

Like csw said, the zoo and aquarium are very nice but somewhat small. The national aviary is a must see if you're a bird lover. If you like art and educational places then the Andy Warhol museum and the Carnegie Science Center are great attractions. They are both on the north shore close to PNC park (where the pirates play).

Some good shopping districts are Shadyside, the Waterfront, and the Southside Works. If you want a more bohemian feel than visit the strip district or station square for trendy places to eat. Definitely eat at Primanti Brothers if possible!

Kennywood is a great place to spend the day if you want to visit a theme park, it has some pretty fun roller coasters and other rides.

There is a brand new casino on the North Shore right beside the Stadiums if you're a gambler. I believe it only has slots though.

A word of warning: even though it is small, Pittsburgh has frustrating traffic patterns and there is always constructions on one of the cities many bridges. Don't be surprised if you see numerous detours.

Hoped this helped and I hope you have a great trip! PM me if you have any questions.

Clay,

If the company wanted you to have a wife, they would have issued you one.

I just got my private ASEL at Pittsburgh Flight Training Center at the Allegheny Co airport last year. They do tours over the city of Pittsburgh.

Other than that, I concur with the other responses...Carson St bars/clubs, Kennywood park...fun stuff.

Oh..and Primanti Bros. Great food and beer
