RagMan Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Damn it is such a great feeling! I've been waiting a long time for this day! Both the oral and practical went smooth. Had to do a second slope landing, but other than that, I hit the rest of the maneuvers right on the money. 49.3 total hours under Part 141. All of the info and words of wisdom from everyone on the forum is much appreciated! Next up, instruments in the R44! Quote

brushfire21 Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Congrats! Don't rush the Instrument ticket as you have lots of time between now and your CPL checkride. Go fly and have some fun burning holes in the sky with your ticket to lean, totally awesome Quote
edspilot Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Great! Congrats!! I agree, take a few deep breaths and fly some without the pressure of "an instructor in your ear." It is remarkable how quiet a helicopter is without the insturctor around. Fly within your limits and the learning is never-ening. Enjoy and be safe! edspilot Quote
rotorrodent Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Congrats!! ....now wipe that grin off your face. Oops sorry, you won't be able to do that. That grin is now permanent for the rest of your helicopter career. Rotorrodent Quote
AStarB3 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 awesome job you can now call yourself a pilot Quote
KyleA Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 One of the best feelings in a career. Congratulations. Go out and explore. Quote
Goldy Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Congratulations, fly like you did in training. Now is not the time to decide to change your personal minimums or decide you need to go practice auto's by yourself! Have fun in the 44...expect some difficulty in the last 5 feet of landing for the first few hours. The feel of the 44 is different with the hydraulics not providing much feedback thru the controls. Everybody adapts to it in a different time frame, so don't let it bug you if it takes 10 or 12 hours to feel good about your landings. Goldy Quote
FlyNHighNFast Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Congratulations! You've probably heard it many times already, but I'll say it again. Your PPL is a license to learn, go on out and fly just for the hell of it and have some fun, but fly like you have a loved one in the seat next to you at all times Quote
RagMan Posted October 4, 2010 Author Posted October 4, 2010 The PPL is absolutely a license to learn. There is no room for letting your guard down in this business, at any time. Thanks again! See you all in the air! Quote
BlackHwk27 Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Nice job, Congrats! You'll enjoy the 44 -- great machine. Quote
pieInTheSky Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Good work RagMan, you really flew through the PPL (excuse the pun)!!! Quote
