Ship down in Salem, OR

An Md-500 helicopter based out of Newberg, OR with Precision Helicopter Services crashed in Salem, OR yesterday while harvesting christmas trees. Not sure what caused the crash. Pilot was taken to the hospital with broken bones. Amazing that he survived the crash, considering how tore up the cockpit appears to be.

Just goes to prove something that a couple of old time helicopter pilots told me. 'If you are going to crash a helicopter, do it a 500' Look at the cabin, its egg shaped for a reason. The egg is the world's most perfect shipping container.
