At the risk of sounding like I am still lashing myself over how I got into my flameout, I am not. That event is over and I learned so much from my mistake and so much more by telling it here amongst you true professionals. I felt like I am a high school dropout amongst you guys, but we all have something to add, and I am here to learn. I have made several nice flights since my flameout and I am not the same pilot. I have upgraded my helicopters main fuel solenoid, added a backup battery for my governor, and am back to working on implementing a hard flare should I find myself in that scenario again.............. I admitted I am an envelope pusher, and I can show you all videos of myself reaching 85 mph at the end of my chopper channel that is less than 700 feet long! I was probably near an over torque then, but I assure you its only grandma up pressure on my collective from now on, unless absolutely necessary. So, I am proud to say that I really believe I have beaten ny weakness of letting euphoria take over common sense. I needed that wake up call, and if my fledgling helicopter experiences helps one helicopter pilot here evaluate his or her own euphoria with flying the greatest machine , a helicopter, then its all worth it. You'll bounce back stan... and be diving thru the canyon runs again soon... sure maybe you'll be more cognisant of your ship and your environment... but there is nothing wrong with flying your machine to its limits... just be sure your limits are not exceeded.

I was just out today and put my heli in a 1000ft deep canyon very steep terrain and where a waterfall drops off I found an extreme confined area... I had a rated ppl friend with me and had him watch the tail the entire time as I put it on the ground between trees with maybe 5-10 feet all around and the tail in a 10 foot space between trees... slope was to the tail and it was the only direction the heli would fit... it was pretty awesome.. heli flying is hella fun. Now you need a 2 place to share the fun.
