Karl Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I doubt you'll find to many of these up north in the winter. Police Paraglider You can't go wrong when you get your job to pay you for what you do for fun. Quote
Auto-Rotation-Nation Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Well it does seem fun and all, and probably just as affective as a 206B where I live, and while it may be a rare occasion that someone opens fire on a PD chopper, I don't think I want to be slung under a canopy and just out in the open without so much as a cockpit door to cover me. Police Paraglider You can't go wrong when you get your job to pay you for what you do for fun. I suppose these could fill the mission profile in the limited application they outlined in the article, but other than that it's a neat toy. When they can keep up with a pursuit, sling a Nightsun from it and put a thermal imager on it, it might be worthy. Quote
Karl Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 I just liked this. It's a paraglider taking off running past a warehouse and around a corner to take off. Looks a bit more tiring than taking off in a helicopter. Quote
Vash the Stampede Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Haha I liked this article. Yeah PPCs are nice for search and rescue, but what they failed to mention was that if the winds are 15 knots or higher, you shouldn't be flying one lol. But they could help with the slow speed Grandma >15mph car chase But I can attest that PPCs are wicked fun to fly though, and incredibly safe Quote
