Trans Lift Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Why is the loading tab at the top constantly flashing? It's kind of annoying. Am I the only one with this going on? Quote
gary-mike Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) Why is the loading tab at the top constantly flashing? It's kind of annoying. Am I the only one with this going on? No, I have that too. I just clicked on this topic to try to figure out why. Sounds like maybe it is the Forum Spy updating. Edited January 11, 2011 by gary-mike Quote
Fly the LV Sky Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 At least it has the reassuring effect of letting you know that it's working. Sort of like the hum of a fluorescent light?? Quote
AdminLB Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 Why is the loading tab at the top constantly flashing? It's kind of annoying. Am I the only one with this going on? It is the FORUM SPY updating constantly to feed posted content in real time. You can see every bit of content that gets posted into any other forum no matter which forum you are browsing. Quote
Trans Lift Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 That what I was thinking it was alright. Cool. Still a bit annoying though! Quote
gary-mike Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Since the update I can not always connect to the site. Is this because the update is still in progress? Seems to be off and on. Quote
AdminLB Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 Since the update I can not always connect to the site. Is this because the update is still in progress? Seems to be off and on. Nothing to do with the update. The server that houses the main site (verticalreference.com) has been giving us a fit today and the hosting company has been turning it on and off several times today to see where the problem is. The url to this forum is actually different than the main site of verticalreference.com and this forum sits on another server as well. So this forum is not really effected by the main site being down except to say that if you normally come through the main site to get here, then that would be a problem. Hope that makes sense. Quote
AdminLB Posted January 11, 2011 Author Posted January 11, 2011 That what I was thinking it was alright. Cool. Still a bit annoying though! I changed the time that CONTENT SPY queries the board for new content from every 5 seconds to every 30 seconds. So you won't see the green loading message so often. So that means it will update every 30 seconds -OR- whenever you navigate to a new page......which ever comes first. Try that and see if it less annoying. Quote
Trans Lift Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Much better. Thanks Lyn. It just kept catching my eye when I was trying to read posts. Quote
