hey all, im currently studying for my instrument written test using prepware 2010 and need to get it done pretty soon. my question is, does anyone have any special tips for me, besides becoming a prepware zombie for days on end? any special study habits or patterns? or just go through the questions and memorize the answers? thanks in advance!

Nope, just hammer out practice tests. When you're done take the CFII test as well, will save you some time down the road.

awesome, thanks! yea thats what my buddies and instructor told me to do... theyre the same exact test right?

Same exact test. Except the CFII is only 50 questions instead of 60.

Definitly take the tests back to back. I just took my CFII written a couple months after my instrument. I was kicking myself the whole time I was studying the prepware again.

Just to reinforce what others have said here - take both Instrument and CFII at the same time. I just sat for mine a couple weeks ago. Instrument was first, took about 1.5 hours. CFII was next, took about 45 minutes. Why? I'm not kidding when I say I had about 40% of the exact same questions on the CFII as the Instrument.

One other piece of advice - at the end of your first test, take the time to look at the questions you missed and what the correct answer should be. There is a good chance, you'll see the same question again, so you don't want to miss it twice.

Haha. That's what Im doing right now. Took my instrument test about 15 months ago and am going back now and doing my CFII. Really wish I would of taken them at the same time. Oh well good to refresh up on these things anyways. Sorry I don't have any good advice for you, but I'm doing the exact same thing, practice test after practice test until I get in the 90s.
