AirOneMatthew Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 From the video it sounds like it hasn't been approved across the boards and that they are trying this out right now over the next few months. Anyone else heard at all about this? I was wondering if they were ever going to alter it. I am preparing for the 3 event old-school PRT but don't know if I should change my workouts? I won't be testing for 2-3 months. Let me know if you guys hear of anything! akscott60 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 On Rucker we still do an APFT. However, they are putting up pullup bars everywhere, and we do PRT in BOLC. Its only a matter of time until it changes. I am looking forward to not having to do situps tho. Quote
PFC Teno Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 They keep changing their minds about the new APFT, it has gone from a multiple even almost obstacle course like test simplified to a three even test over and over. From what I can tell currently they're looking at a 1.5 mile run, a minute of pushups, and a minute of the rower(an exercise from the new PRT program). Units are transitioning off of FM 21-20 and starting PRT. That being said, PRT will really just sustain you. You're going to have to work on your own if you want to excel. Quote
