I'm not sure if I'll be able to convince myself to give the CFI another shot? To be honest, even if I didn't have motion sickness problems as a passenger, I really don't think I'd make a good CFI, (some people just aren't meant to be teachers). Anyway, flying "for a living" has never really been a dream of mine. I just thought it would be a descent way to "run out the clock". I only wanted to fly tours, and quite frankly, that job isn't really worth being a flight instructor first! Who knows though, maybe Old City will hire me, I only have three times their minimums? Maggie Posted July 2, 2011 Report Share Posted July 2, 2011 I borrowed a DC from a friend for 2mo when I first started flying, then had a Bose X for 3.5 years, sold that on eBay for about 30% less than I paid for it and now I've been flying with the A20 up to 7hrs/day for the last 6mo. Love it. The straight cord with the single pin version isn't as long as straight cords on FW headsets that I've run into in the past, it seems just the right length, actually. And if the jack is in the floor (EC130) then the coil is pointless anyway. In the Astar I just loop it through the headrest on it's way up to the ceiling jack to keep it out of the way, which I imagine I would do with a coil too if I still had one. I've never had to wrap it up and zip-tie extra loops or anything, there just isn't that much of it. All that said, I'd be interested in good earplugs. I've never had luck with any kind, they all make my ears sore within minutes...I think I just have small ears. My husband got custom-molded CEPs for his helmet and he says they are not as comfy as he'd hoped. He is also a musician, I'll have to ask him about the ones he wears for gigs in comparison! HG03 I use CEPs and the pack that came with them have a "slim." I have had issues with the expansion of earplugs as well. The slims are awesome, and don't hurt.
