Joined the Sheriff's Dept in 2004...air ops division required private w/instrument rating. Maxed my CC to obtain PPL for ASEL and RTC. Instrument then added to ASEL. Then, after seven years of pushing a patrol car around...bam, accepted into air support. Three years and counting... I pinch myself every day I pull into the parking lot at the office :)

I've been keeping an eye on those Florida Sheriff's Department flying jobs hoping I qualify for one.

 

So far, I am not a resident of Florida.. ;)
