Thanks for the positivity in this thread vs. some of the others floating around. Again, we all do share the same passion, and even more, the obstacles in our way.

My Thoughts on giving back:

 

When I was young, I used to hear this saying about giving:

 

 

"Give until it hurts, then you know you have given enough."

 

 

I never really understood that saying. I always thought it was wrong but being young back then, you never questioned your elders, or if you did, you only did it once. :angry:

 

As I got into police work and meeting people many times "at their worst" I began to figure out a better way to describe giving, at least for me.

 

Throughout my career and still today I have used my own way to explain giving and that is:

 

 

"Give until it feels good, then you know you have given enough."

 

 

I remember how difficult it was back in the mid-70's when I was learning and looking for a job, when there was a real influx of returning pilots from the ending of the Vietnam War.

 

 

I had help, therefore, I try to help.
