Whiteshadow Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I was just reading a story about some of these operators in AOPA mag. They don't mention the name of the company in the article here though. Sad day for some tourists who just wanted a cool ride............ http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44776452/ns/us_news-life/t/helicopter-crashes-nys-east-river-rescue-underway/?GT1=43001#.Tot1Uq4SzJQ whiteshadow Quote
gary-mike Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Maybe LTE? No matter what the cause it is sad it happened at all. Quote
Darren Hughes Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 It was NOT a tour chopper. We don't fly tours on the East river any more. Only privately owned and charter helicopters fly into and out of E34th st. And, from what I've been told, it was not one of the main commercial operators around the city either. Quote
rotor91 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Privately owned 206. 5 pax on board, 1 confirmed female dead. Sad day. Quote
Whiteshadow Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 Sorry folks, was only saying "tours" because the article said it a few times. Thanks for the updates too. Quote
