RkyMtnHI Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I seem to remember a post about wireless headsets and cannot find it. We are looking for a way to leave the aircraft wearing our helmets and continue to communicate with the crew on board. Or walk up to a helo with a head set on and communicate with the pilot. If you know of any systems please let me know. I looked into the headset company that came out a few months ago with a system but they are still in the development process. I talked to our Avionics company yesterday and they suggested a headset plug on the outside of the helicopter but we want to be able to walk away from the helo and be in total contact with NO WIRES. We only need about 50' range. We also need a way to sit in the back with two or three people, talk/train between them without disturbing the crew up front, but, be able to monitor the crew and respond via a talk button. I have looked at some systems but really don't know which would work best and they all seem to be fixed wing stuff. any help would be appreciated. dp Quote
Pohi Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 David Clark headsets advertises for wireless headsets. I was thinking about getting one. Quote
RkyMtnHI Posted July 19, 2012 Author Posted July 19, 2012 Thanks Pohi, very interesting, i just spoke with their regional mgr Ralf Chance (210.872.8590) and their stuff looks promising. Can't wait to get more info and try one out. Looks like exactly what we are looking for if they can incorporate them into our helmets. The headsets look cool for tours as well. dp Quote
adam32 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I'm pretty sure I've seen EMS pilots talking to the nurses while they are outside hot loading...I'm not sure how they do it, I'll do some checking. Quote
HeliHelvig Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I believe Tiger Performance sells some wireless communication kits for headsets and helmets. You may want to give them a call and see what kind of systems they can offer.www.tigerperformance.com Quote
