R44 question

I am looking to buy a used Raven I, and as I search I see some timed out ships that are priced around $200K. Can anyone help me understand how a timed out machine seems so expensive? I am looking for an 1900TT +/- with 2+ years left before overhaul. What can I expect to pay? Any thoughts from someone who knows would be beneficial.

The core value of an R44 right now is somewhere between 70-90K. Just depending on condition and options. So to find a ship with 300 hrs remaining you could expect to pay something in the 150-175K range. You could buy the same ship cheaper if there was less than two years in which to fly off the remaining hours....some of the ships for sale only have months left, one is even calendared out, and they never lowered the price as that time approached.

 

Not every ship for sale is priced right to actually sell. The ones that are move pretty fast.

 

I think Raven 1's are a great value right now, and after you overhaul it with the new MRBlades its a really nice ship. My 2cents of course...
