Haha phew.. My arms are so damn long I struggle with pushups. While getting my physical at West Point, I maxed out the scale for wingspan by about 3 inches. I'm 6'4" with about a 6'8" W.S. @SBUZZKILL, did your PT scores affect your position on the OML much?

At least by the old scale PT wasn't that important. I did well on everything else and the difference between me maxing my selection PT test or doing the minimum was third or third in the OML.

Maybe this can be a sticky/pinned thread?   I thought it would be helpful to have a thread that has the stats of everyone who has been selected on the forum. That way, it will help answer the questio

This thread isnt a discussion thread, its a stats-only thread. Take the discussion stuff elsewhere.

You were third or third, meaning you maxing the PT test had no affect on your position in the OML?

Yeah Im hoping the new PT test is in place, I think I could place better because of my errr.. anatomic anomalies😂

Yep, scoring high or low for me made no difference at all. You need to do widearm pushups, that's the key for us guys with longer arms, although I'm not sure if that's allowed with the new ACFT crap.

I got selected with the guard in our March board, and just got a WOCS date. Guard is a different beast with LORs and the application process, so I know the stats are whacky, but I always wanted to make this post if I got selected! I got out of the Navy reserve and had to join the Guard as a 88M to apply, and go back through BCT and AIT, so it was quite the process but its paid off so far!

Selected on first look, street to seat.

AGE: 25

RANK : CIV

GT : 129

SIFT : 50

EDUCATION : BA Business 2.7 GPA

PHYSICAL : Stamped

LOR : CW3 SOAR, CW2 Chinooks, SNCO SOCOM, 1st LT USAF WSO, 1st LT USMC, Outdoors company CEO former ranger

Ecstatic and still riding the high, ship in October. Strangely I did not get the new 10/12 year ADSO and got a normal 8 year contract.

It doesn't take a genius apparently 😂

My stats were slightly below average and I was selected out of around 30 people. My LORs are from some extremely salty/stacked fellows though so that helped.

Don't get too excited...you have a standard 8 year enlistment contract because that's what everyone who joins the military gets. The 10 year ADSO is not a contract you'll sign, it's just something that you incur by regulation for graduating flight school and doesn't start until your graduation date. You're still owned by the Army for the next 12 years or so.

Thedude is 100% correct.  You are learning a very valuable military lesson even before leaving for basic training. The military can always throw you a curve ball at anytime. It was just a misunderstanding on Your part of your obligation. Get ready.

There was a USNA graduate a few weeks ago who thought he had a possible NFL contract. He was told he could try out but the Navy changed its mind, no appeal. No problem for the Air Force or Army academy graduate players this year but who knows next year.

Don't be too much concerned about the 12yr obligation, that's 12 years in a pilot seat.

1 recommendation, don't resign in flight school on your own account. The Army can keep you for the 10yrs from your resignation date. Graduation rate is in the high nineties.

Have your decided on which aircraft you want?

Congrats on the selection, you earned it and enjoy the ride in serving ones country. Good Luck.
