Nomad110
Hey guys, I have a kind of dumb question. I can't find anywhere in the POH for a Raven II R44 about what happens to hydraulic pressure if the engine quits in mid flight. Of course I practiced hundreds of autorotations and hydraulic failures but never together. Do you expect to lose hydraulic pressure if the engine quits in flight or is the pump driven by the turning main rotor? Thanks,Christian
adam32
They might run them off the trans...I know the 47 G3B1 was off the engine then the G3B2 was off the trans in case of an engine failure...
Helipilot PTK
It runs off the transmission, so you will still have hydraulic pressure if the engine quits.
superstallion6113
Def run off the main gear box. It's part of the preflight checklist.

Helipilot PTK
Def run off the main gear box. It's part of the preflight checklist. Which is ran by the transmission. So if you lose your engine the transmission will keep Hydraulic pressure.
