GraphiteBlur
Yeah, I didn't mean to not expression remorse for the aircrew. I will continue to hope that they managed to bail before the crash, but if not than rest in peace. My prayers go out to their families. Hotdogs
My old supervisor sent this to me. I'm not sure why I haven't heard anything else about it (then again I stay away from news media). I'm not sure why there are no American military members present in the photos. When I was in Balad, we lost a Predator to an airframe malfunction and we sent out a convoy of humvees to dispose of the debris and blow up the hellfire that was onboard. They even sent out a security team on a 60 to secure the scene. Here we lose an apparent KC-135 with no sign of the aircrew and I see no US military presence. Odd. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2319006/Military-fueling-plane-explodes-mid-air-crashes-near-American-air-base-Kyrgyzstan-en-route-Afghanistan.html The amount of classified stuff on a Predator vs KC-135 is probably the reason. Considering the 135 is just a 707 plumbed for air to air refueling and the Predator probably has some serious gucci kit onboard that we wouldn't people getting their hands on. Sad story all around. Current and relevant news. MMW Radar and UAV control looks like it gave the Apache the edge in S. Korea. The Apache costs about 1 billion in total procurement more than the AH-1Z. https://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/apache-block-iii-program-kicks-off-as-contract-signed-02480/
