asepaugh
I am reporting to BCT in a few days and WOCS in a few months. I was wondering when my family will be able to join me at Fort Rucker? In between BCT and WOCS? or after WOCS?
tydaddy
After wocs is what most recommend.

tydaddy
I have verizon. If you're lucky enough to have been grandfathered into the unlimited data...I'd recommend downloading easy tether pro...its a 1 time fee of like 10 bucks. Its faster than any broadband connection. I raced cat 3 xc but got out thanks to organic chemistry in the summer... Would love to get back into it. My first purchase after getting settled in at Rucker will be replacing my cumbersome trek 4300. I actually did quite well with that dinosaur. GraphiteBlur
Are there any mountain bike trails around the Rucker area? And if not, are there at least quiet roads that I could road bike on?
t.o.n.y
No, don't ride on roads around here. No shoulder and the drivers are horrible

No shoulder and the drivers are horribleI think if we had a decent sized group regularly it would be alright. t.o.n.y
Also know of a flight student hit by a car last year who was almost kicked out of flight school due to injuries. Be careful
GraphiteBlur
Maybe I'll just bring a trainer and ride my bike in my living room. :-)
movingtarget21
My wife and I have been riding around Rucker for a couple weeks, most roads have 30mph speed limits so nobody is blazing around at high speeds. I would recommend hi vis clothing and lights though. Not a whole lot of lighting around here after dark.
t.o.n.y
On post would be fine. Some roads off post might work, but never ride Rucker Blvd. No shoulder, 55mph, bad drivers. Bad combo
Justine
There is a group called team rwb that goes on group rides. They have a Facebook page. Did anyone who is single bring their dog with them?
tydaddy
From what I've read...its a bad idea...also you can't be single and have a pet on post.
t.o.n.y
I have a dog, but as stated, can't be single and live on post with one. There are always others with pets that will help out with watching them when necessary.
