aeroengineer Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Hoping all of us get it.....and boards change so a focus of one board may not be the focus of another board. 1 Quote

matteus588 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Welcome, and good luck to you! Care to post your stats? Late response; busy couple of days... Age: 24Major: B.S. in Geography with a focus in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)Minor: Naval Science (NROTC)GPA: 3.3AFQT/GT: 98/135AFAST: 134APFT: 265LOR's: CW4 state aviation safety officer , Major turned CW3 to keep flying, 1LT I've known for years, past district supervisor for a fraternal organization, mentor I've known since I was a kid My whole story is a long one, this is a condensed version. I completed the 4 years of NROTC and was literally 40 days of OCS away from getting commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the Marines. (This is where a lot of condensing will happen) 3 "vacations" to Quantico, VA later, lost waivers for minor medical conditions that I didn't have in the first place, and about a year's worth of time after graduation, all led me to pursue options other than the Marines. (They were willing to send me back for a 4th try of making it through in-processing.) (More condensing) I've basically spent the last 2 years trying to get commissioned in the Army, only to find I'm ineligible because I "processed" for another branch's OCS. Thinking I was out of options, I finally stumbled upon the WOFT program and thought it was the holy grail I'd been looking for; I've wanted to fly all along. I was NS on the January board, and my recruiting battalion commander said he thought I was on the cusp, and thought the January board was unusually competitive.  I've probably left something out, but I've gotten in the habit of shortening the story so I don't bore people too much. Hopefully this journey will end next week, and I can start a new one with all of you that are going to get selected! 1 Quote

matteus588 Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 No SIFT score? Awesome story - I wish you the best of luck here in the next couple of days.Yeah, I was kind of wondering about that myself. According to my recruiter, my packet is good to go. I know it was reviewed by the board in January, and from the literature I've seen, it's ok since I was even board ready for November, but battalion made a mistake and didn't get into that one.  My luck, I'll need it and get sent to the next board, but that ok. It's the end result I'm going for just like everyone else on here. 1 Quote

ftxag76 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 From BCT to finish, how long would y'all say the AVERAGE time frame is? 2yrs? BCT-9wk, WOC-5/7wks, and Rucker, +/-18mo? 1 Quote
akscott60 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I left for BCT 1 June 2010, and left Rucker a graduate of the 58D course and ALSE on 24 August 2012. 1 Quote
I.am.Specialized Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I wanted to go ahead and formally thank everyone on this forum. Regardless of the selection that takes place today and the rest of this week, please know that I hope I can return the favor of knowledge that you all have granted me. My process would have taken ages longer had I not stumbled upon these forums. In these last hours of awaiting word on selection, I hope we can all remember what we are here to do--serve our country....and fly the baddest birds on the face of this Earth. As said before, good luck to all applicants. I hope to serve alongside such an amazing group of individuals should I be selected as well. May the odds be ever in your favor! 3 Quote
SemperGumby Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I started WOCS Nov 2011. Our class' projected last fly day in the 64 is the last week of July and Flight School graduation is mid-August. Some from my WOCS class have already graduated the 60 course and are back home/next duty station. Quote
PhrogGuy Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Good Luck to everyone. I look forward to hearing about your success. 1 Quote
