Didn't see this on any other news links. Good job on getting it down (notice the power pole in the background).

From the looks of your link the damage seems to have been held to a minimum. I didn't see any reporting on injuries. I hope everyone got out uninjured.

The report mentions minor injuries, which usually is indicative of bruising, scratches, whiplash, etc. I'd imagine they were able to walk away, so this was by definition a good landing. If they repair the bird and use it again, some may even call this a great landing!

"A helicopter had to make an emergency landing... right in the middle of US 1."???

The toes of the skids are over the pavement on what appears to be an access ramp. From what I've seen of Florida drivers, that's close to the middle of a major highway... At least this dolt reporter didn't call it a 'chopper'.

Didn't take long-

Good job, whoever did it.

Well US1 is like two single lanes with a grass median inbetween - its possible that the helicopter is in the median and therefore technically it would be "right in the middle"... but I digress as its all conjecture from where I sit.

Guess Bristow is lucky the news only reports the ones that happen in roads and not off airport. 3 in 3 months while I was there, don't recall seeing a NTSB report on any of them. One of them was one I refused to fly, two students after me had the failure, mechanic said it was good.....

Yeah that is at the entrance to the airport just off the US 1, right near the railroad tracks! Good job whoever landed it.

I don't know if it's adrenaline or focus that compresses the time, but real world autos come down like the proverbial brick.

I try not to break anything but I don't let that interfere with survival.

Remember- it was seriously broke when I started the forced landing...
