Shooting the Honopu Arch

This video

was shot on the island of Kauai and ends with a transit of the famous Honopu Arch with a helicopter. To my knowledge the pilot was Red Johnson and he may have done this more than once. Can anyone share more information?

Interesting. I did my Helicopter training on the island of Kauai. Awesome place to train. This of course was not part of my training. :-)

 

I wonder who the pilot is.

Acapulco H.E.A.T. ?

Yes, that is Red Johnson. And yes Red did that for Acapulco H.E.A.T (early 80's?). He had a few yards on either side; it was pretty well mapped out. Red had well over 10,000 hrs at that point, of course. It is the same Red Johnson that built out the original Papillon helicopter tour operation in Hawaii and Grand Canyon (operational and business models now copied by most of the industry). A number of the heliports in Hawaii where also built out by Red.
