Wally Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 What your survey doesn't address is the human issue. Pilot error, in one way or another, is responsible for the vast majority of accidents. Single engine/multi; IFR/VFR; 1 pilot or 2 pilot crew, and to a much lesser extent, days versus nights, with night operations resulting in 3 to 4 times the day time accident rate. Equipment is not the answer. For every equipment benefit, there is an increased training and management cost that needs to be considered.Scheduling issues will eventually result in creation of a special part of the FARs for HEMS, and as a byproduct, equipment 1 Quote
