Where's that video of the EMS pilot coming in super steep to a confined area surrounded by trees.... and then getting out the same way he came in? That was much better than this.

So I was expecting a slower level and then hover, but damn, that was fast.

 

Anyone know why they would make such a rapid pick up? Was is simply the weight of the aircraft pulling it down once he got it past the tipping point or a matter of getting off the unstable snow as fast as possible?

I wonder if they damaged the fenestron injesting a little snow like that. Those blades aren't cheap...about $3600 a piece. I would know because I just had to replace all of them on my EC-130 which I believe uses the same blade.

Not quite as steep as I remember, but still very well executed. Not sure I'd have the balls to do that one quite yet...
