Black Bear Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Can anyone recommend schools on the west coast, maybe even Idaho that provide student housing? I know Jerry Trimble has a few arrangements, but I'm intersted in researching other schools before making a decision. 1 Quote
zippiesdrainage Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Silverhawk in Boise Idaho offers housing. I didn't attend but their chief pilot JT Is a DPE who did a couple of my check rides and a nice guy. From what I saw it seemed like a good school with plenty of helicopters and a good mountainous training environment just outside Boise's Class C airspace. Quote
AS350 pilot Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I wouldn't narrow your search to only school's who are offering housing. In my experience, flight schools don't make very much money unless they have large volume or are doing something shady. If a school is offering housing, it is probably not a very nice place to live. In my opinion, you should find the school and an area that fits you best…..if they offer housing, that's a bonus. Specialized Helicopters is Watsonville, Ca. was a great fit for me. As for housing, I'm sure they will help you find a good place to live. Quote
