napoleonpp Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I was wondering if I could get some quick advice. I'm currently at WOCS, starts next week, and I've been stenciling most of my stuff. I heard a rumor to use Kiwi shine to stencil your stuff, it comes in a 2 ounce bottle with a sponge at the time. I applied it to a shirt and it looked great. Do you think it would run whenever it's washed? 1 Quote
SBuzzkill Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Is that the shoe polish? That stuff hasn't come off for years. Quote
PhrogGuy Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I wouldn't over-think this. Never tried polish to stencil. But, a good Sharpie works just fine. I have uniforms and skivvies that I stenciled in boot camp 14 years ago that are still perfectly legible (and it doesn't run when washed). You just have to be a little careful about bleed-through. My $.02 Semper Fi and good luck. Quote
napoleonpp Posted November 8, 2013 Author Posted November 8, 2013 Yeah that's the shoe polish. My friend was using fabric paint and it's harder to do that with a 10 letter name. I'll proceed with the shoe polish. Thanks for the help, I'm just ready to start the course already!! Quote

darkstarx87 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Don't overthink anything. No one ever looked at our stenciling ... nor cared. Its not a big deal. I did that fabric marker which took forever ... do whatevers fastest Quote
darkstarx87 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Tip: "Preflight" ur laundry slips the night before to save some time in the morn. Our tac liked wasting time in formation. Tip: don't stress out much ... its not that serious Quote
